Historic Sandown - A Tribute to Sir Jack Brabham

CoolDrive was once again a proud supporter of the Historic Sandown event run by the VHRR (Victorian Historic Racing Registrar) over the weekend of November 7^th to 9^th. This year’s event was of particular importance as it paid tribute to the clubs patron the late Sir Jack Brabham.

40+ races over two fantastic days saw up to 400 racing, sports and touring cars from yesteryear battle it out to revive the glory days of motoring. One of the highlights of Historic Sandown is the Formula 5000’s. These big banger 5lt V8 open wheel race cars come across the ditch from New Zealand to challenge the Aussies in some of the fastest racing in Australia.

With hundreds of classic cars on static display and a special on-track parade of Brabham racing cars there was something for everyone who loves classic motoring. The next major VHRR Historic race meeting is the always popular Phillip Island Classic held March 5^th – 8^th.
