CoolDrive Sponsors Olympic Athlete
10 May, 2016
CoolDrive Distribution is proud to announce its sponsorship of amateur boxer Jason Whateley, who will be representing Australia at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Whateley, the current Australian National Champion in the heavyweight division, funds his career through his work as a qualified personal trainer,
“CoolDrive is actually my first corporate sponsor and having them on board will make a massive difference in my preparations for the Games,” he said.
“As I am an amateur, I’ve had to completely fund my own career. It’s been tough at times as when I am competing, I obviously can’t work and we still have bills to pay.
“CoolDrive’s support and sponsorship has come at a great time as it means I can focus solely on my Olympic training - here’s hoping I make them and Australia proud in Rio!”
Whateley will be one of three boxers representing Australia at the Games, with CoolDrive honoured to provide Jason with the support he needs while pursuing his sporting dreams.
“Being an amateur boxer, Jason has to source most of the funds to pay for his involvement in the sport. When meeting with Jason, we heard his story and saw his obvious passion and drive to represent Australia at the Olympics and we knew we had to support him,” Tim Blanchard, GM – Marketing, CoolDrive Distribution said.
“We feel that Jason personifies the Australian spirit with his never-give-up attitude and down-to-earth nature and we are thrilled to have him as part of the CoolDrive team.
“We wish Jason the best of luck in Rio. All of us at CoolDrive will be cheering him on!”
Whateley’s Road to Rio will begin later this week when he heads to Canberra, then Queensland for training camps, before heading to Colorado at the end of June with the Australian Boxing Team and then onto Rio.
