THE RECAP

After two practice sessions yesterday, it was straight into qualifying for the Supercars today. In a session where only 0.8 of a second covered the field, Tim was smack bang in the middle, qualifying in 13th position.

After a great start to the race, Tim was sitting comfortably in 11th when on lap 40, the race was turned on its head. Fabian Coulthard hit the tyre wall at turn one. Tim’s stable-mate Nick Percat had the side of his Supercar taken out, and when Tim Blanchard turned the corner, he was a touch wider, going straight into the side of Coulthards’ car, ending his race.

Tomorrow Tim will suit up for his final full-time Supercar drive here in Newcastle. Everyone at Team CoolDrive are keen to see him get the result he deserves. Be sure to jump on the Team CoolDrive Facebook page and send Tim your messages of support for his final race. #ThanksTB

THE WORD FROM TIM

“I didn’t have anywhere to go. You’re flying around turn one trying to keep momentum as you charge up the hill, and Fabian was right there. There was no yellow flag at that stage to give me any warning he was there.”

“That was the start of a lot of chaos in that race. Turn one caught a few people out today, and unfortunately took a few innocent passengers along with it.”

“After qualifying well, it was a shame to not finish. We’ve got one final race here tomorrow and there’s no doubt I want to finish on a good note. I’m eager to stay out of trouble and get the result I know we can capable of. Bring on Sunday.”
