THE WORD FROM TIM
Tim was close to his best Hidden Valley qualifying effort (13th) today, when he brought the Team CoolDrive Commodore across the line to qualify in 14th position. The track temperatures soared above 30 today, so most drivers had their best qualifying run on their first flying laps. Tim started off the 7th row for the 120km race and found himself in some tough on track fights and when a mid-race safety car was called, it bunched up the field to create even bigger battle packs. Tim moved forward to bring the Team CoolDrive Commodore home in 12th position, his best result so far this season.
TIM “It’s awesome to have achieved our best qualifying and race result of the year today. The car felt great; it was fast in qualifying and we were able to translate that into the race. We struggled at the start with balance, but after 4-5 laps our car balanced out a bit and I felt we were quite strong. The last 10-15 laps of the race the car kept its good pace and we were right on the tail of the guys in front. It was a close battle pack. Overall I’m pretty happy with the result and it would be fantastic if we could move forward another 2 spots tomorrow and crack the top ten.”
