Tim worked his way through two of todays’ qualifying sessions and only missing the third by 0.02 of a second. Tim’s race was unfortunately marred with pit stop dramas, with the car jacks having a fail at the first stop, causing damage to the car which impacted Tim throughout the race. He dropped down the order to finish in 24th. TIM “I’m really happy with our qualifying efforts today, the CoolDrive Commodore worked really well for us and just turned on when it needed to. The track was still drying up from some earlier rain and was quite cool, so it was the perfect conditions for us.” “During our first pit stop the car didn’t jack up like it usually does, the rear did, but the front didn’t. The team dropped the car causing damage to the rear. We didn’t realise the extent but during the next two stops everything seemed to happen a lot slower than usual, so we lost a lot of time.” “After the last stop one of the wheels was shuddering and after about ten laps (on lap 57) the wheel came off the CoolDrive Supercar, so I had to limp the car back to the pits and have the team fit another. It was a pretty shocking day after such a good qualifying result.” CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS 1 – Scott McLaughlin - 1247 2 – Shane Van Gisbergen - 1089 3 – David Reynolds - 1079 4 – Craig Lowndes – 1053 5 – Jamie Whincup - 979 24 – Tim Blanchard – 350 COMING UP Round 6 of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Winton SuperSprint – BJR’s home track! 18 – 20 May Winton Motor Raceway, Victoria
