It's all about wheel speed
8 Dec, 2014
As the modern vehicle gets more advanced both the consumer and government authorities are demanding better economy, emissions, performance and safety features, thus on-board vehicle sensors and control units must operate at their optimum.
In many vehicles the wheel speed sensor is one part that’s critical to the correct operation of systems like ABS, traction control, stability control, anti-rollback control, hill descent control, rear collision avoidance and speedo operation. Wheel speed sensors are located in very hot and harsh conditions and are proving to be the weak link for many reasons including physical damage, open circuit internally, weak magnetic field (signal) or damaged wiring loom and why in many cases the warning light will be on, automatically disarming all of these safety and driver aid systems, making the vehicle very unsafe to drive.
Historically wheel speed sensors have been hard to source and expensive. To combat this, CoolDrive is excited to announce that a comprehensive range has now been added to the ever growing Engine Management program, providing customers with nearly 300 part numbers that covers just over 1000 applications fitting vehicles like Audi, BMW, Daewoo, Ford, Holden, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Seat, Skoda, Subaru, Toyota and Volkswagen. All wheel speed sensors are OE quality and come from worldwide companies like Bosch, Delphi & Intermotor plus many other OEM suppliers.
To help with the speedy and correct diagnosis of a faulty wheel speed sensor, CoolDrive also has available an affordable and easy to use wheel speed sensor tester which is now a must in every workshop. The EQP-111 has one purpose only, to accurately test wheel speed sensors in place and fast.
