Townsville to Cairns Bike Ride20 Oct, 2014 Darren Johnson (CoolDrive Townsville) has recently completed the Townsville to Cairns bike ride supporting the Children’s Cancer Institute. The ride started on 24th July from Townsville and covered 358kms over three days, stopping overnight at Ingham and Innisfail. The Townsville to Cairns bike ride was founded by Selwyn Hardwick in 1999 and has been running ever since, this year raising nearly $320,000 for the Children’s Cancer Institute. This was the first time Darren has ever attempted a ride like this but said he thoroughly enjoyed the experience and is already “looking forward to next year, I might even be able to convince my partner or some people from CoolDrive to come with me!” Congratulations Darren, a fantastic achievement for an even better cause. |
