THE FACTS ON TIM & SYDNEY MOTORSPORT PARK
- Last year was the first time Tim had ever competed in Supercars at SMP. He had previous experience here in a 2013 pre-season test day with DJR and a 2015 pre-season test with LDM.
- The lowest grid position for a race winner at SMP is 17th. Rick Kelly started 17th to win the red-flagged 300-kilometre race in April 2004 for Kmart Racing.
- Tim finished 2nd in the 2007 Australian Formula Ford Championship round at SMP in his title-winning season.
- The first ever touring car race held at Eastern Creek was a 500-kilometre endurance race run on a Saturday afternoon in November 1990. It was won by the Commodore of Larry Perkins and Tomas Mezera.
- Father John Blanchard raced here in the 1993 championship round in one of Tony Longhurst’s Benson & Hedges BMW M3’s and then again in the inaugural two-litre round in 1994.
