THE WORD FROM TIM
Team CoolDrive worked until 3am this morning to repair Tim’s car for today’s final 200km race in Tasmania. It was a stellar feat for the team, as 4 of the 11 cars damaged in yesterday’s race did not return to the track today. Tim qualified in 21st for today’s race, and on lap 42 found himself wide on the final turn and on the grass, causing the Team CoolDrive Commodore to spin across the track, narrowly avoiding Scott Pye in the process and making contact with the wall. This damaged the rear and he was unable to continue the race.
“The qualifying session was messy due to the constant rain today. Cars were going off at various points throughout the session, so piecing those final flying laps together proved tough.”
“It’s not how I wanted to end my race considering the efforts the guys put into repairing the Team CoolDrive car last night. We’ll regroup and be ready for Phillip Island in less than two weeks.”
