THE WORD FROM TIM
Times improved in qualifying today, with Tim cracking the 1m19 bracket to qualify less than a second off pole sitter Scott McLaughlin. Tim pitted early in the race to try get out of the slow Winton traffic and make up some ground. In the latter part of the battle packed race Tim was in 21st and the only safety car of the race came out with 16 laps to go when Caruso found himself stopped on the pit straight.
The team elected to pit Tim for fresher tyres knowing the field would bunch up and he could try make a charge through the field in the final laps. He re-joined in 25th and worked his way up to 22nd where he ultimately finished the race.
