THE WORD FROM TIM
The sun shined on Pukekohe today, seeing race fans turn out in droves to see the Supercars light up New Zealand for the final race day. Tim qualified in 24th and on the race start he avoided the lap one carnage and managed to move up as high as 16th position before the first round of pit stops commenced. With no safety cars the team worked through their plan and Tim was able to hold position to finish in 16th. The two top twenty results are an improvement on a tough time here at Pukekohe last year. Tim “The CoolDrive Commodore was a little more competitive today. We managed to steer clear of all the trouble today and we gained up a lot of spots early on in the race. We held our position, and found ourselves circling at the end with stable-mates Percat and Slade, you could see our cars were on par.” “I’m looking forward to getting to Newcastle and the challenge of learning a new track. We’ve heard plenty of good reports that the track build is going great, so everyone in pit lane is pretty excited to get there in a few weeks time. Plus, just like NZ, I think the locals are going to love it. The championship is still up for grabs for a couple of guys, so it’ll be a great show.”
