- This is the 16^th time the Gold Coast event has been a points-paying round of the Supercars Championship.

- Tim & Todd are coming off a solid 12^th place finish at tricky conditions at Bathurst, including a double stint for Todd in wet conditions, with no rain wiper!

- Last year James Courtney and Jack Perkins won on Sunday last year from 11^th on the grid. No-one prior had won by starting any lower than 6^th on the grid in a Supercars race at the Gold Coast.
