“Qualifying wasn’t as good as we hoped after yesterday, so we started a bit further back than we wanted. We got caught up behind a few of the guys and some of the first few lap shenanigans. Once we cleared them the Team CoolDrive Commodore felt pretty good pace wise, but we’d lost about 7-8 seconds to the front group.”
“I was managing to close a bit of that gap but made a mistake down at turn 4 and ran off, so that made the gap bigger than it was originally. It was a pretty lonely race after that, as whilst we had enough pace to hang onto that pack we didn’t have enough to close the gap. A safety car would have saved the day and got us back into the. Overall we hurt our chances a little bit by qualifying 3-4 spots back further than where we would have liked. Another qualifying session an 250kms coming up tomorrow, so see what we can do.”
