Team CoolDrive Tailem Bend SuperSprint Supercars Recap

26 Aug, 2019

RECAP – The Supercars Championship returned to Tailem Bend for the 2nd year running with an action-packed schedule. The rain stayed away but very low temperatures and heavy winds made for difficult conditions.

Macauley had a trying weekend. At times he showed glimpses of speed and felt competitive, but some unfortunate incidents set him back across the weekend. On Saturday Macauley finished 19th after being spun on the first lap and gaining 6 positions throughout Sunday’s race finishing up in 20th place.

Jones will head home to debrief with the team and work on a strategy to attack the only international Supercars race in Auckland on the 13th-15th of September.

THE WORD FROM MACAULEY

“It was a tough weekend for the team and I, as the car had pace but a few errors were made on my end. Very frustrating as I had a fast race car. We made some positive steps forward with the car and set-ups and will continue to work towards these. The negatives are also positives as we are always learning from them and we will work on consistency. I’m very looking forward to heading to NZ in a few weeks times.”
