Team CoolDrive Ipswich SuperSprint Supercars Preview

The Supercars are back in the sunshine state for the second time this month, as they gear up to take on the Ipswich SuperSprint at Queensland Raceway.
In case you missed it, the CoolDrive co-driver announcement was made last week, with the exciting news that Dean Canto will be joining Macauley Jones for 2019 Pirtek Endurance Cup. Dean brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, as this year marks his 21st appearance at the great race – Bathurst. He has a podium and plenty of top ten finishes here already, so we’re looking forward to seeing what he and Macauley can achieve over the coming months.

Saturday 27th July
10:35-11:05 – Practice Three
13:25-14:05 – Qualifying (3 x 10-minute sessions - knockout style!)
16:15-17:00 – Race 19 – 120kms/39 Laps
Sunday 28th July
9:30-10:00 – Practice Four
11:20-12:00 – Qualifying (3 x 10-minute sessions - knockout style!)
14:10-15:30 – Race 20 – 200kms/65 Laps

- Macauley will make his Supercar debut at Queensland Raceway this weekend. It is one of the few tracks he had not competed at in Supercars previously
- Chances of seeing a safety car across the weekend are slim! The safety car has only appeared in seven of the last 25 races held at Queensland Raceway (2009 – 2018)
- Macauley’s dad, Brad Jones, claimed a pole position here in the circuits’ inaugural year. Brad took his Audi to pole position at the two-litre Super Touring round in 1999.
- There have been two red-flagged races in VASC Queensland Raceway history; this was due to torrential rain in 1999 and 2001.
