Team CoolDrive Ipswich SuperSprint Supercars Recap

Team CoolDrive returned to the Sunshine State for this weekend’s Ipswich SuperSprint event at Queensland Raceway. It was a tough weekend for Macauley Jones, with his race results being determined by mechanical issues out of his control.
During Saturday’s race, the Team CoolDrive Supercar had a refuelling issue, which saw Macauley have to complete a second pit stop to make it across the line. Adding insult to injury, he was unable to re-join the pack and cross the line, as it was the final lap; pit lane exit was closed.
Sunday got off to a difficult start when a brake issue saw the Team CoolDrive Supercar come to a halt during the morning qualifying session. Not being able to post a time forced Macauley to start from the back of the grid for the longer 200km race. With no safety car appearance all weekend, the races were flat out from start to finish. Macauley finished today's final race in 22nd.
After a 3-weekend break, the team will head across to South Australia where they will compete at The Bend Motorsport Park for the second time in Supercars history.

“It was a frustrating day for Team CoolDrive. As always, it is extremely close around Queensland Raceway so only being a little bit off makes for a difficult day. Add to this a refuelling issue which forced us into making a second stop for a splash at the end, only to have pit lane closed so we couldn’t re-join to finish the race.”
MACAULEY - On Sunday
“I lost brake pressure in the rear of the car during qualifying. The CoolDrive Supercar spun and came to a complete stop. I couldn’t get it going again, so it brought out the red flag ending the first qualifying session and putting me at the back of the grid for the final race.”
