Team CoolDrive Townsville 400 Supercars Preview

For Team CoolDrive’s Macauley Jones, Townsville’s Reid Park circuit has provided a few firsts for the young gun. This is the circuit where Macauley made his Super2 debut in 2014, and also where he claimed his maiden pole position in 2018.
2019 marks his first-year contesting in the Supercar series and with 5 years of track experience under his belt, he goes into this event knowing exactly what to expect.

Friday 5th July 10:55-11:25 – Practice One 14:25-14:55 – Practice Two Saturday 6th July 9:55-10:25 – Practice Three 11:50-12:10 – Qualifying 15:10-16:45 – Race 17 – 200kms Sunday 7th July 10:35-10:55 – Qualifying 12:20-12:45 – Top Ten Shootout 15:10-16:45 – Race 18 – 200kms

- Qualifying Lap Record – 1m11.9908s, Scott McLaughlin, 2017, DJR Team Penske, Ford Falcon FGX - Race Lap Record – 1m12.9311s, Nick Percat, Brad Jones Racing, Holden Commodore VF - Tim Blanchard will be making his Super2 return this weekend, joining the Townsville grid where he achieved his first Super2 win in 2010. - Only 4 times in the 21 races has a Townsville race winner started from Pole Position. Jamie Whincup on Saturday in 2010, again on Saturday in 2016, Scott McLaughlin on Saturday 2017 and Shane van Gisbergen on Sunday last year. - Twelve different drivers have claimed the 21 available pole positions in Townsville from 2009 through to 2018. - 11th is the lowest grid position for a race winner in Townsville. Garth Tander started 11th for the second Saturday race in 2014 in his HRT Commodore and went on to win the race.
