RECAP: The final race of the season and Macca got off to a great start, quickly finding his rhythm and running well up the field. A Safety Car was deployed early in the race and the team chose to pit Macca. Unfortunately, it didn’t go to plan, with a split in the fuel hose delaying the CoolDrive Commodore and putting Macca to the back of the grid.

Despite the setback, Macca continued to fight hard, showing pace and poise, while punching out lap times that matched the front of the field. Unfortunately, the bad luck continued in the second pitstop after a front left-hand side-wheel nut got stuck, again pushing Macca to the back of the field.

It was a race that could have delivered so much more but while the team was disappointed to cross the line in 22nd, it was a tremendous drive for Macca’s final race of 2019.

Congratulations to Macauley and the whole team for a great effort throughout the year.

THE FINAL WORD FROM MACCA FOR 2019

“It was a pretty good weekend; we had a few mishaps happen which was just a bit of bad luck. Overall, I feel like it was positive, and we made some steps in the right direction.

The car felt good all weekend and I felt like I could maximise its potential. I gave it everything I had and I’m happy and proud of where we ended up.

Thank you to my whole team for all their hard work they put in each round, they are a great bunch of guys and girls. Also, a big thank you to the Blanchards and everyone at Team CoolDrive, the support I receive from them is not unnoticed and I’m very fortunate for their support.”
